Belief is Grief

Picture-poem on dreams vs. ideology, by Chris Wayan, 1992/7/31

This just burst out one day--a calligraphy-poem dissing ALL ideology: religions, philosophies, rules.
Direct daily experience--or nightly experience, if you're a dreamer--is a better guide.
The metaphor: experience is water, but belief is experience frozen into ice.

Two-page typographical picture-poem: Belief/Is grief./Drop your ice cap/of water once alive...

Congealed now/Like corpseblood/White spikes, chill pillow./But elastic pines all know:/There's a time to shrug off/Your load of blindfold snow.
