Come Fly with Me
Dreamed and drawn (mixed media) 2012 by Lilian Verkins
I fly straight up in to the air. I do not feel the pull of gravity, even though I have a body form. I don’t have wings, but I can navigate with my arms. So I fly over what looks like a park, with a spring river running through it. I dive down and skim the surface of the clear water. I feel the coolness of the water. This gives me a thrill.
I notice others who I do not want to be seen by. So I stop (floating upright as if standing) way above the people; they do not see me. When the group has turned away, I come down unobserved.
