Pentalemma
An improv meditation in comics by Wayan; conceived 2002/3/10, finished May 2006
Each philosophy, each religion, neglects some goods for others. So tempting to let an undeniable good hijack you, end your awkward balancing act! Can picturing these competing values spatially help heal our monomanias? I tried drawing mine to find out what they are, how they conflict, and whether they could be reconciled.
Did I? Can they? You decide.
NOTES
Since Pentalemma was improv (no idea where it'd go!), the level of detail varies; I've only made the later, more detailed pages and figures enlargeable. The inconsistency's inherent in the piece.
Pentalemma inspired a series of shorter comics exploring the effects of triangles, squares, hexagons, circles and spirals; they're collected in Polygon Dreams.
