Architecture

Should I call them structural dreams instead of architectural? I mean dreams about not just cool buildings (though many of these are) but about how place, space and structure affect us, or dreams that hinge upon distinctive spatial structures.

My own dreams see only two real schools of architecture and spatial planning:

  1. Organic, as in Rococo, Art Nouveau and Deco, and Gaudi and Hundertwasser and eco-builders, as well as much traditional village architecture...
  2. Or geometric machismo, as in the street-grids and boxy towers of our cities--and that boxy room you may be in right now.
RELATED TOPICS: house and home - maps & cartography - butch and femme - abstraction - body image - size matters - round and squiggly art - See also the full INDEX OF SUBJECTS.
