Financial Advice

Can dreams offer useful advice about worldly matters? A century of dream-theorists from Freud and Jung up through modern sleep researchers (doubtful there's any meaning in dreams at all) would say "no". Whether dreams work on repressed urges, spiritual growth or memory consolidation, they shouldn't concern their pretty little heads with money.

But they do. The list below is short not because such dreams are rare, but only because they rarely make entertaining stories. I've logged hundreds--mostly short and practical. En masse they shaped my life--indeed, in the 1980s a relentless barrage of financial-advice dreams freed me from wage-slavery, as dreams did a century earlier for Robert Louis Stevenson.

My dreams' financial vision was consistently sounder than my conscious judgment--indeed, often inexplicably predictive. That's not unique: see A Hand at Cards, Insurance, Signorinetta, The Swaffham Tinker, Three Sevens, Tornado Insurance, Trigo, and Walker's Dream.

I'm not claiming every dream of financial advice is reliable: see Collar of Gold or Treasure Under Stone! As the Romans never said, Caveat Snoozor--Let the Dreamer Beware! But most financial-advice dreams are worth listening to.
