Frankenstein's Pool Party
Dreamed 2025/1/15 by Wayan
For Bailey Yarovyi
I'm walking north with my sister Althea on a narrow cliffbacked beach. Craggy islets up to a mile out, wave-sculpted then human-tweaked into the giant heads of fantasy creatures--one resembles Mickey Mouse and several are (supposedly comical) trolls.
Suddenly the beach turns inland, rimming a crag-studded bay. More giant cutesy heads, fairytale cottages & castles. Nestled amid these Disney megaliths, real humanscale beach homes. But they're just above high tide mark, with no safety zone for storm-surges. With seas high and rising, they'll be doomed in the next decade.
I know vaguely that I'm dreaming, think "I often find dramatic islets off the California coast in my dreams--beautiful, magical, luring me... But these are just cheesy. Why this Disneycation?"
We climb up the steps to one of these beach homes and find a party...
Talk with the host--a Frankenstein who grows people in tanks. Well, he doesn't--he asks an AI to handle the details. And it gets them wrong. But even his prompts are pretty stupid; he wants servants and sex toys, mostly human, a few furry, but all hardwired the same: horny, easygoing, pliable. Admittedly, he wants happy, healthy sex slaves. But that's second priority, behind growing giant breasts--and a bimbo to hang them on! His face-models are, alarmingly, the Disney cartoon heads of the islets and bay. Art of the Old Masters, to him.
I protest. "You're neglecting basics like bone development, the immune system, heart... brain. If you get this stuff wrong you can disable people or shorten their lives."
He says "Aw, you're just pretending to care. Come on. They're just girls."
"Speak for yourself!" Stomp off disgusted. Cool down a bit than think it through. This guy uses AI, and it always heads for mediocrity--the center of the bell curve. It'll create pretty average women with a few cosmetic fetishes of his on the side--whether huge breasts or leopard coats. So maybe the health risks aren't much worse than for untweaked humans (not that those risks are zero. As a mutant myself--Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome--I know firsthand that nature's sloppy too.)
Later at the party, I swim in the pool a while, then sit on a wooden raft afloat in the center...
My girlfriend Spaniela shows up! I thought she couldn't make it. She jumps right in and paddles over. She doesn't have to worry about her clothes, she never wears them, and paddling is her only stroke: after all, she's a dog girl. Golden fur, floppy spaniel ears, huge violet eyes and a retriever's feathery tail. I help her up onto the raft.
Pet her. Start teasing a little. She goes from wagging her tail in pleasure to raising it in invitation. We both get hot. Foreplay in public--I didn't know that turned her on!
I didn't know it turned me on.
I'm so hot I'm ready to mount her dog style, while everyone can see. I get behind her and slide my cock up between her thighs and tease her lips. Will she really let me in? While all our friends watch?
And I wake alone. Arrrrgh!
NOTES IN THE MORNING
- Disneyish cartoon heads: the AI art I saw online, at Deviantart. Sturgeon's Law applies: "90% of everything is crap." Especially since the AI blends it all uncritically, mixing one part art and nine parts crap. Ah, crowd wisdom!
- Frankenstein monsters stitched together by AI:
- the AI art I've seen often has...
- Random numbers of fingers and toes (oh well, I'm not great at hands or feet either)
- Ridiculous volleyball breasts, high waists, big thighs and butts, but also...
- Big shoulders, skinny hips, washboard abs (AI exaggerates both male & female traits indiscriminately--& often simultaneously.)
- Huge eyes (set low on the head, pinching the face) and tiny mouths (both from manga. Girls should be seen but not heard? AI uncritically copies Japanese sexism.)
- Animal AND human ears simultaneously (AI can't see they're two forms of the same structure!)
Like Dr. Frankenstein stitching disparate corpses together.
- Is this rich, shallow tinkerer only my dream's view of AI and its promoters? Or is it also Trump and his improv-comedy regime, changing policy daily?
- The pool: is this an awful pun on gene pool? The dream's clearly on genetics--it compares AI's errors creating art to Mother Nature's errors creating me (I have EDS, a mutation giving me fragile joints, autism, a weak immune system). Having to live with a design error, I can't shrug off the risks like the careless Frankensteins running the world.
- My dog-girlfriend: resembled Lady in Disney's Lady and the Tramp and Bailey Yarovyi's cartoon dog-girls on Deviantart (example, right). The dream reminds me Sturgeon's Corollary is also true: if 90% of everything is crap, 10% isn't. It's just lost in the crap. And should't be blended with it, as AI uncritically does. Crowd wisdom is not wisdom.
- I feel shy, our friends at the party will see: I'm cleaning my room for our home's first big post-Covid party. My art, especially the Foam Furs (lifesize freestanding plushies of dream-creatures), will make my furry fetish obvious to party guests. Eek!
- ACTION: Be me. My cranky, horny, stupid, dreams and art and thought, unleavened by majoritarian AI crap. Expect some teasing--or worse. But what else can do--conform? To Sturgeon's law? That's worse than a few putdowns.
