Second two-page spread of different scene from same dream. The armies of angels and sphinxes are value systems at war in me of course---but hardly just in me! Christian art is full of images of war in heaven; but instead of rebel angels, my dream has sphinxes--pagan figures who riddle and question, empirical, practical, sensual. Science AND art. Devils? The only batwinged Lucifer type around is me! And apparently it's MY job to try to keep y'all from killing each other. Trucemaker, not revolutionary general.
