Wolves and Wolf People

Wolf dreams... Old World readers will note that wolves are treated more sympathetically here than in your folklore. No, I didn't censor wolf-nightmares to push some ecological agenda. I live in the American West, and New World wolves behave differently both in folklore and reality. Attacks on humans are almost unheard of, and wolf-dreams here reflect that. It's revealing that the lone exception below, where the two species are truly at war, Wolves Evolve, is set in a mutant Old World wolfpack in Kipling's India.

It's ironic that DNA studies say dogs are descended entirely from Old World wolves.
